Tofu & Wakame Miso Soup

I wanted to share this recipe for simple tofu miso soup as the followup to Mugi Gohan for two reasons. For one it is the most widely recognized version of miso soup that exists. If there were a dictionary entry for miso shiru, this would likely be the primary definition. Secondly this is a great example of a fall back recipe. When I don't have much to work with at home, this is my default. Your default could be something else. I just always happen to have miso, tofu, and dried wakame on hand at home. Your pantry may look different, but what I want you to take away from this is this: have a few go-to recipes that are easy to make with staple ingredients that you always have on hand. Whatever they may be. This is going to save you time, money, and the stress of having to figure out what to make on the fly when you are in a pinch.
